Robotstadium 2010 is now open ... This year's participants can program in Java, C/C++, or Python. The winning team will receive a Webots PRO software package. A round of matches will be played every week day at 3:00 pm (CEST). If you want to participate, you can download Webots 6.2.2 from here and start programming right now! For those who participated to Robotstadium 2009, there are only few changes in Robotstadium 2010. The Java, Python, C and C++ APIs are mainly unchanged. The most important changes concerns the graphics rendering of the robotstadium.wbt world and of the NaoV3R.proto, they are more textured and the lighting and materials have been improved. As a consequence, the simulated camera images appear more realistic and therefore the image detection algorithms may need to be adapted or recalibrated for Robotstadium 2010. Even if you don't want to participate to Robotstadium, you are welcome to use the latest Webots and the Nao simulation in your projects. The demo version of Webots will let you use and modify the Nao controllers (C/C++, Java, Python) associated with the distributed Nao worlds. So you are welcome to use these worlds for training your algorithms for the RoboCup or for any other purpose. I hope to see you soon on Robotstadium! Best regards,
Yvan |

We are please to announce that we just released Webots 6.2.beta1. As its name indicates this is a "beta" version released for testing purposes. This version principally adds a much improved rendering engine (OGRE) to Webots. In addition all the Robotstadium worlds were completely re-looked: lighting, shininess, textures, colors, etc. were changed. The physics simulation and the API functions/methods were not modified. You can download Webots 6.2.beta from here: http://www.cyberbotics.com/beta (Linux i386, Linux x86-64, Mac OS X and Windows versions). Please send us your feedback about this beta version as we could not test it on every combination of operating systems, CPU, graphics cards, etc. This will help us prepare the final release of Webots 6.2.0. Thanks! Yvanix |
